INJURED HAWK GETS WELL AND IS RELEASED

Jake Caleca, Superintendent of Bear course found an injured Hawk on Forest property last week.
Jake and Mr. Ben-Susan captured the bird and contacted the bird hospital CROW, (The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife). The hospital nursed it back to health and in a week, brought the bird back on property.

They release it Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the same spot it was found injured.

The Hawk didn’t take long to be reunited to his / her mate by loud squawking.  It showed how much each was missed and... "Where have you been for the past week???"

#11 BOBCAT DRAINAGE CULVERT REPAIRED IN-HOUSE

On The Forest Country Club property, behind #11 Bobcat green is a large drainage vault that connects to the preserve off property.

Original galvanized drainage pipe rusted away from the concrete vault.

We were able to fix the failure in-house. We used a large 24" PVC pipe which is much stronger and more durable that the old original galvanized pipe.

Hydraulic cement was applied to wrapped around the connections for a secure and tight fit to prevent leakage.
We're going to backfill and sod around the fault. Rip Rap on either side to prevent erosion.

Special thanks to Superintendent, Michael Chickrell and Assistant, Ed Matthews who completed the project.
